Hey fellas,
Been a lurker for a few months now finally made the leap to create account.
So I have a budget of 100,000, I really like brand new Rv's, but I may be open to a low mileage used one. Build quality is the most important to me. I will do some light traveling the first 3 years then I will do driving year around in it. So I need to make sure it will last.
Important
-Build Quality
-Will just be my wife and I in it.
-Insulation (I plan to use this in cold weather (Illinois Winters)
-CLASS A only
-Washer Dryer Hookup
-Outdoor Entertainment Center
Ideally a 34' would be good, but nothing longer
I have been looking at this
http://www.mhsrv.com/2014-forest-river-georgetown-335ds-w2-slides-res-fridge-40-tv-55-gen-new-class-a-tx-i1030961. Its under my budget, new and looks nice.
Do you guys think this will fit my needs, or is there any other brands that would be better? Which should I stay away from.
Took me a few months to get to this point so be easy :)
Cheers
Older and tried and proven is always the best bang for the buck IMO.
Depreciation per mile is much less and with the money saved, you can do a lot if necessary. Surprisingly the brand new ones usually require more than a good used one that has all the bugs worked out, repaired, changed, modified, or otherwise made whole. Having a warranty is a real PITA and pretty much proven by all the forum threads that address this issue. I like buying quality, buying it right and then being completely on my own with it.
As for the quality and for what you now have in mind, our rig cost that much in 1998, so that should\tell you something.
We just bought the 328 Georgetown...love the layout and the price. Sorry people but there are a lot of motorhome snobs on this forum and it isn't very nice to say something is stupid. We buy new - new cars, new trailers (except our first pop-up). We looked at higher-end used but my husband isn't handy and though our house wasn't new it didn't need any fixing up. Just sayin!:M
