- 1gvolsExplorerIt's very loud. No to power no to mpg
- Slojoe72ExplorerYou have one ...... It has to help some. Debbie Downer
- Slojoe72ExplorerDon't worry guys I won't be disturbing you at the rv parks. I'm only using motorhome to pull my race car trailer to the track and some times stay there… fyi it has a 350 cummins 8.3
- TprLSPExplorerPut one on my Cummings 350. Sound was a little deeper but did not seem to be any louder than the stock one. I didn't have any noticeable power or MPG increase.
- Fleet_ManExplorerInspect the factory installed muffler on your MH before considering replacement with an Aero Turbine straight through version. I considered doing that to mine, see signature, pulled the muffler to inspect it and discovered the factory installed muffler on our MH is a straight through version.
Get underneath with a tape measure, measure the distance from a point in front of the exhaust inlet to the muffler all the way to the end of the tail pipe and extension. Using a plumber or electrician "fish tape," feed it into the tailpipe. if you can feed more than what you measured, you already have a straight through muffler installed. Save your money for something else, no Aero Turbine necessary. That is, unless you actually do need to replace your muffler due to damage, burn through or it is corroded through and leaking. - DSDP_DonExplorerI don't think you'll see any earth shattering results from the Aero Turbine. I think in many instances, people only buy them when their OEM muffler goes bad. Aero happens to make replacements that easily fit stock applications.

Anyone install an Aero Turbine Muffler on your diesel pusher... which one? Happy with sound level? Any added power, or MPG increase?
Thank guys
Yep,
I installed the Aero 5050XL Stainless Steel straight through one about 2 years ago or so. What a waste of money. I know this coach pretty well and, it's power. It's an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT. I knew what it did on certain grades and flat driving conditions. And, it rarely ever went beyond about 7.5 mpg.
After the install, in Quartzsite AZ at the big RV even there, I was hoping for a substantial increase in all areas. What a let down. All I got out of it was TOO MUCH NOISE. The gas mileage is still 7.0-7.5 depending on what we're doing at the time. The power, the same, on all grades etc. One of the "supposed" benefits of the install of that muffler was that, since it is a straight through design, the engine is supposed to "Spool up" quite a bit quicker at the lower rpms.
Well, if it "spools up" any quicker, you can't tell it by me. In my opinion, for what it's worth, don't waste your money. We hate the additional noise.
Scott - moishehExplorerNor only is it a waste of $$ if your unit is a 2007 or later with a DPF you cannot just install a muffler!
Moisheh - Slojoe72Explorerits a 1999 ........ booooo
you guys are bumming me out - mike_brezExplorerJust straight pipe it.
