Muffler

Since the 3:00 O clock and 9:00 O clock position are exactly oppposite can it just be turned over?

You don't need a muffler, just put on a straight pipe.
Unlike a gas engine diesel does not need back pressure and
if you look at a new muffler it is open to both ends.

Try a Aero 5050XL it will increase fuel mileage too...

Don't straight pipe it. It will sound hideous and the noise and drone will be unbearable IMHO.
