Air bed

The wife and I are so used to our waterbed(in stick house) that we have a very hard time sleeping on any regular mattress. We have been using a Coleman air bed and so far we have gone thru 2. For some reason the air coils separate from the top and bottom and you end up with a giant bubble. Now before you all go crazy with the: your not suppose to do that is an air bed, etc remarks. To damn old for hi jinks and such. The first one we thought maybe we had to much air in it, but then we got a replacement from Walmart(coleman won't take them back with out receipt and you have to send two pics and jump thru a bunch of hoops.). We only put enough air in this one to make it comfortable, it last 3 months. Popped so loud this morning it woke me up. Always happens on my side. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what is the problem, or are the coleman air mattresses just junk..

  • there are a ton of different air beds at all different prices... I am not that nuts about a sleep # either.. but any air bed will allow you to adjust it to your back. Just isn't zoned like the sleep # .. Go to amazon or overstock.com.

  • We got an aero bed for our MH. The first season, we only got to go out two times. Then it was stored for the winter. In the spring the second time we went out, the thing would go flat. Got to the point whoever got up for a potty call pumped the bed back up so we didn't wake up on the board in the morning. By the time this happened, even though we hadn't slept on it that many nights, the warranty was expired.

It did not pop, it just kept slowly leaking air.

We went to a sleep number. At first I wasn't wild about it, but didn't want to say anything due to what the DH spent for it. But the more we used it, the more comfortable it got and I love it now.

We have a waterbed at home too, and my back just won't handle a standard mattress. If I sleep on a regular mattress, I won't be walking the next day.
  • Forget the Chinese junk at Walmart. Look for an Areobed. They seem to be made of far superior quality, come in standard sizes.
