Funny! I thought about that interpretation after I had posted it! Really happy that wasn't the case either!! :o
Got back home and made a more permanent jumper...soldered it to the circuit board...plugged the t-stat back in and everything works like a charm!! WooHoo! Now, I think as the permanent solution, I'll try to find a replacement t-stat and keep my repaired one for a spare. Not sure what caused that circuit trace to open, so I'll be watching closely for other problem indicators. I've seen traces burn in-two before and have repaired them multiple times just like this one, but there had to be either a weak trace from the factory or a surge in that particular circuit that caused it to open up.
