We're in a Jayco 31, which I'm guessing is probably close to the same size. Ours is a Coleman Mach 8 15K roof air - and we have almost the same problem. But we're a bit better.
I can get about a 15-20* difference. So that still makes it a scorcher when it's hot outside.
If you go to the Coleman Mach website (Airxcel?), you can download a PDF that describes how to test your unit to see if it's performing or needs service.
A couple of thoughts: 13.5K sure sounds small. 12* doesn't sound enough. But, I'm thinking you could do a bit better but it'll never be great. Just a thought.
