air pressure increasing

I was taking the motor home to a shop to have trany serviced. Along the way I had to make a abrupt stop. After I got going again both air guages, front and rear, started to read higher. The front normally reads about 115 to 120, started to read about 135. Rear normally reads the same but krept up to about 140.

Any suggestions?
  • You may want to have the pressure relief valve checked as it may be sticking closed. You may have noticed when you first start your coach up that the air comes up to a certain pressure, then you get a loud "psssttt" out of the back. That is the pressure relief blowing off.
  • Next thing is the govenor on the side of the pump which may stick also. It looks like this.

    Notorius for going out.
  • Yup, the governor is the chief suspect. And, not expensive.
