I am having a hard time finding a shop which wants to deal with replacing a leaking airbag for the front springs. I've seen where folks have done it themselves, but I am hesitant to try and tackle it myself. Any suggestions? Local RV place in Tennessee wants around $600 to fix...Thanks

If it the coil spring air bag. I bought mine online and went to a local truck repair shop (I try to avoid RV places for any Chassis problems.) where they installed them for less than $100.00. The bags were right around $125.00 delivered.That being said some people have had luck cutting out the old bags and pushing the new bags up through the bottom of the coil spring. That did not work on mine and the arm had to be removed. I was lucky as I have a really good truck repair shop and they allowed me to buy new shocks and brake pads which they installed when replacing the bags. They had to take the shocks half way off and remove the rotors in order to drop the arm.Try to find a good independent truck repair shop and go there for all your service needs you will be a much happier person and their rates are much less expensive than an RV placeLooking through your area I see Hargis trucking and repair and Poor Boys I would give one or both of them a call or go by their place and talk to them

Hi: We replaced one of these this past spring in our '95 Allegro M28. We'll replace the other when needed or when we want to wallow around under the rig some more. ;-D It was a bit of a challenge but after warming up the bag itself (we wrapped it up in a heating pad on low for about 30 min.) then we used my Seal-A-Meal with the wine cork attachment to suck as much air as possible out of it, rolled it up and the hubs was able to wrest it into the spring. ;-) Fun, fun, fun but it saved us a bit of $. ;-)

Thanks a bunch for the suggestions. I have never posted anywhere before and it is really cool that I got this great advice. I contacted a place in Cookeville which said they have done them and would size it up for me, but found a farm hand guy who is willing to try and replace the air bag. He says he has a huge jack and jack stands and is willing to give it a shot.
