Alarm type noise

I have a 98 bounder 34v with a Ford 460 I can drive several 100 miles no problem then all of a sudden I get a strange sound it's a low whistle/buzzertype noise it only last a few seconds but continues to come on it comes and goes randomly below 70 MPH. if I go over 70 MPH It comes on and stays on until I slow below 70 MPH can someone help me with this

    Didn't cars of that era have a alarm device that you set to a certain speed and once you got over a sound was made. My Dad's old Taurus did. I'd sneak into his garage and set for forty!

    Wind noise from the grill slats maybe. Make sure none are loose. If the ends of these are open that may cause the issue. Hopefully others with this type of Bounder can help.

    I've never experienced any such sound but then the only time I exceed 70 is during downgrade to upgrade acceleration. Even in those rare instances, I haven't heard it.

    Thanks for all your suggestions I'm going to check them out if I still hear it I'm thinking maybe it could be coming from my cruise control vacuum module I'm going to turn off the cruise control next time I start hearing it and see if that eliminates it

    I'm going to come at this from left field. I had a 2001 Taurus that made a similar sound. Ford couldn't find it. I took it to an independent mechanic who found a bad bearing in the distributor or whatever replaces the distributor on these more modern engines. Granted, it's not the same engine or vehicle or year, but it is a Ford. Who knows?

    Just a shot in the dark, maybe gear whine/howl from rear axle? Does it change if you accelerate and then decelerate?
