My last fiver was three years old and looked brand new on the outside. Less than a 1/2 cup of vinegar in 4 gallons of water isn't going to strip off a whole lot. I never waxed the last fiver and got complements on its shine all the time. People thought it was new until the day I sold it.
Used the rv soap with the wax in the past, spray on wax also. Never again. The vinegar water looked way better when finished. Just keeping it clean keeps a lot of the degradation away. Don't give it time to set in.
I understand many feel the need to wax, as I did in the past. Modern finishes have come a long way over the years and can resist a lot of the UV problems of the past. Just keep them clean and bird crud off you be ok. Besides a few rain showers and your wax is probably almost gone anyway.
