Am I doing this wrong ?

I will bet that when you had your TT and you pop up you spent time outside of the unit. With your Class A are you finding it a little harder to get outside. I know I have to force myself to sit outside most times. But once I grab a chair sit under the awning its a great feeling.

You will just have to look around for some campgrounds that will fit your RV. There are parks out there that will make you feel comfortable.

Your 337 is small enough to get into most public CGs but you need to learn how to not need hookups...those CGs are not like what you described.

Class A's are generally made to "rough it smoothly". Full hookups at commercial camgrounds. Of course, they are fully capable of going to non-hookup places, but that's up to you.

Not sure where you camp? You might try to camp on BLM areas.
A lot quieter.

Most Michigan state parks were designed over 50 years ago when tents were the norm. Electric but no water or sewer. Some, a few, have been updated to include full hookups but most remain as originally designed. You can go online, put in the specs for your MH and find a site that will accommodate your MH and reserve it. You can also see pics of the site.

Still they are small and pretty crowded during the summer months. On the other hand most sit on some of the most prime real-estate in the state sitting on the shores of the Great lakes and inland lakes.

Private campgrounds, different story. Full hookups but you won't be sitting under 40' pine trees. There are nice state and private campgrounds, you just need to do a little research.

The other thing to keep in mind is that in the northern climes, everyone has to get their camping done in 3 months and on the weekends. I find a huge difference in the atmosphere of local parks when we check in on Sunday and leave on Friday.

For next spring's project, try this. Put in 4-6 volt golf cart batteries and 200 watts of solar on the roof. Go to some no hookup state or national park for 3 days. Report back. Totally different experience than a KOA or Jellystone.

Some tips: 1. Use www.woodalls.com to search and filter for RV sites. 2. Use www.recreation.gov to search for Corps of Engineers campgrounds in Michigan. You can input your rig length to filter site sizes. The results will list the site size and whether it has electric. They are usually more a bit more developed. Try to select a site and see if there is a photo of the actual site. 3. Use www.reserveamerica.com and search for RV sites with 30A electric, select the park, select a site and look at the photo. 4. Look at www.rvparkreviews.com and read reviews from people staying in Class A's. 5. Learn to boondock and use your generator rather than depending on electric hookup. Just make sure your fuel tank is full.

You need to "spread your wings" further if you're only looking at MI state parks. We've found great state and national parks from Florida to NY. Here's the view from our site at Robert Moses State Park near Massena, NY, followed by a view of the site itself. 50/30/20 amp electric only, but a water spigot is nearby. No seasonals either...

I have not come to the point where people bug me. There are 2 things I don't care for. 1 is drunks playing music at full volume, 2 People who insist on turning on every light, including the trailer markers and going to bed whilst polluting a whole CG with light. We stayed in one in NY and they'd come around at 11PM and tell people to turn off unnecessary lights. I've been to Massena lots of times as my BIL lives 15 mi south of it. Beautiful Rivers.
