When my Michelin right front tire blew out, I managed to get a replacement while sitting on the side of the road. Cost about $390. Later, I wanted to match the tire at a Michelin dealer and was told the tire was $520. Of course, I had to make the deal. Called Michelin and inquired about "retail" prices because of the difference for the same tire. I was told "Michelin is a tire wholesaler and DOES NOT HAVE RETAIL PRICES". When it came time to replace the four rear tires, I went with Toyo, mainly because of the price savings. I also have to submit, if a front tire blows out at 62 miles an hour, it tells me that something went wrong with a manufacturing process. All six Michelins came with the coach, made me wonder way only one had a problem.
Yes but a quick note on your post, I was a truck driver before retiring and can tell you all that a blowout can happen on a brand new tire, it happened to me 1/2 hour after leaving the tire shop and it can happen to any manufactures tire. Blowouts normally have a reason behind them and it is not always age, uv, or ozone.
