True story. Back in 2006 I think I left Las Vegas on a nice sunny 70+ degree day headed to Salt Lake City... and smack into a BLIZZARD.. Now what I did is drive carefully till I came to a road sign (Cooporative rest stop next exit) and I took that exit. Found the edge of the lot and parked, Went in had Dinner at the Diner and back to the RV for a nice night's snooze.. Got up the next day and back to the Diner for Breakfast.. Local News on TV, Reporter was saying how the ditches were lined with cars that slid off the road.
Overnight the Road Commission snow plows worked over time and the road was clear and mostly dry by the time I turned the key.
But as for that news report.. The reporter was telling the truth. starting about half a mile north of said rest stop.
My advise.. When the road gets white and scary.. Time for bed.
