Yes I now carry two after My tranny over heated (Ford Tuck) fluid overflowed started a fire. That little EX. they give you just made it
= got the fire out. I now carry two one inside, and a Big ABC in storage with the propane tank, for two reasons, propane compartment is not lockable, can get it quick, plus its a place I'm not going to fight a fire. I also drive with fridg. of. - Mr_Mark1Explorer

I'd like to know a little more about that system if you're willing to share. Thanks in advance.

The built-in unit is called a 'Kidde Duel Spectrum' I have a green indicator light that tells me that the system is operating correctly. If there is a problem, the alarm will sound and then I can activate the 'button'.
It is noted in the manual that the coach will need servicing if that system is activated to have the engine cleaned, etc. (if a false alarm or minor issue).

Heck I can't even tell what brand it was. Wonder if it had RR or if it used LP?
You know not all RV fires are caused by the Fridge.
I have seen one, personally, and chatted with the owners in another case. And neither one was a Fridge fire.
In fact one of them was a TT and it was the Tow Vehicle that burned, Only fire damage to the trailer was external and smoke.. (That one I saw with my own eyes)
The other was a DP. part of the exhaust came apart (A flexible section) fell over against a wiring harness and set it afire.. The owner managed to extinguish. and they put him up in the same Motel where I was waiting out a repair. (Different kind, no fire).
Also though not an RV many get converted to RV later in life (And some were converted to RV at time of manufacturer) I've been on a "Greyhound" type bus (I do not think it was Grayhound, I think it was Indian Trails or Trailways but they all use the same type of bus) which had a fire.. There is no fridge.. And My church parish bought such a bus for the Youth group and though it did not catch fire.... It came very very close due to a dry bearing (Fire was called to cool it off) As it happened one of my co-workers at the time used to drive for the company the church bought it from.. That very bus.
So not all fires are the fault of the fridge. - Kayteg1Explorer IIMark drives Prevost that has lot of aircraft technology.
Even my 1972 Prevost has fire alarm. When I bought it 10 years ago whole engine bay was very greasy and took me couple of seasons to slowly make it clean. What I took as dirty light fixtures turn out to be fire sensors.
I jumped it one time to find out loud bell under driver feet. - PCarnathanExplorerMr. Mark wrote, in part: "Luckily, we have a built-in engine fire suppression system with a warning indicator alarm at the driver area along with the 'button' to activate."

Something was burning heavy under the chassis. - msmith1199Explorer IIIf you look at the other photo in the link, the front end is burned all the way to the ground and the tires burned too. That's more damage up front than in the rear. This tends to indicate the fire may have started in the front end. Maybe the generator or brakes or something up there.

Depending on the fire and how big it is by the time you get to it, a fire extinguisher may do nothing.
