Another roof question

07 Hr ambassador, clean the roof 2x3 times a year. Noticed some gaps cracks etching last time in the "caulking" around some things on the roof.
What is the best caulk, filler, or application to adress the issue.
Thanks to all
  • I'm pretty much down to just the tank vents and sat dish having sealant all the others have been taped with EternaBond. Easy to put down and should out last the everything under it.

  • You could just Eternabond it and be done with it.

Having said that, when I rebuilt our TT I used Eternabond. On our MH, so far all I've used is Dicor.
  • I'd advise using this stuff for rubber roofs. 3 coats.

It will save you the maintenance that you are doing right now and make your roof last 3 times longer. Try the Dicor product.
  • Another good (standard) product is Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Joint Compound. (There's a separate variant of it if you have an EPDM roof.) I have used it with satisfaction; it also doesn't dry completely hard, but remains something like old chewing gum consistency. New can be applied on top of old after a good cleaning and drying.
  • First of all.. good to see you're washing and checking it regularly! When inspecting/checking it try lifting the edges of the caulking.. that's where I frequently see problems as they develop.. especially where the caulking laps onto the rubber. I have been using 'Proflex' with great success. It retains it's elasticity and dries with a clean surface that doesn't hold dirt after it dries. Others will no doubt add more suggestions....
