Another warranty issue

My 3 month old 2014 Fleetwood Storm 32H had a 2" x 6" bubble under the vinyl floor. I discovered it the day after I brought it home. I called the dealer and he said he would contact the manufacturer about what they want to do. Since then I found a couple more. My concern is that the bubble is a lack of adhesive and a potential weak spot which is prone to premature wear. The service manager thought that they didn't even use adhesive when it was installed. He called back a few days ago and said that they would repair it by gluing it down. I was under the impression that the floor is one of the first items installed and everything else goes on top of it. Gluing it down seems impossible without cutting and injecting adhesive.

Anyway, does anyone know if these floors are glued down in the first place? Anyone have similar issues and how was it fixed? Does it even matter?

  • If they are going to glue it down, they will probably SLIT the bubbles, inject glue and then roll it flat. They are not going to remove the entire floor and then reglue. You should really ask for exact details of the fix before letting them proceed! Those slits will always show.

I agree with others that this should go back to factory or replace the whole unit new. Whatever they do, you will no longer have a "New" unit.
  • We have also had issues with our vinyl flooring. It does not appear to be glued down? Maybe that is standard practice? I wouldn't think so.........
  • If that's the case it sounds like all cabinets and partition walls need to be removed in order to roll out the bubbles. Why wouldn't they just glue it in the first place? I don't see them going that route. They must have a simpler fix.
  • It wont work the floor floats and is stapled on the edges.take it back to the factory is the best thing to do.
