- Johno02ExplorerSorry, thought it was a door latch. Follow others ideas. Last resort is a big drill and a sharp bit.
- ksg5000ExplorerIf it were me I would probably swing by a locksmith shop and see what they have to say - chances are they could open that and maybe replace the locking mechanism as well. If you bring the rig to them it won't cost anything to get their opinion.
- ron_dittmerExplorer IIIf excessive lubrication doesn't work, degrease the lubricant away and spray, spray, spray many times, ZEP which is a very strong rust remover. It just might eat through the rust and break loose.
You can buy ZEP at most home improvement centers located in their janitorial section. A gallon costs under $10. - DutchmenSportExplorerYou are now the victim of PhotoBucket's 3rd party image share! Your photo is blocked. I can't see it. You have a couple options... pay Photobucket so you can share your photos, or find a new photo hosting site and quit using PhotoBucket.
When this happened to me, I finally shut down my account completely and withdrew, deleted everything out of photobucket. (all my images were copies anyway, nothing original. My originals are stored on an external hard drive at home).
Sorry there carpfisher for the sad news, but we have all become victims of PhotoBuckets's changes. This started about 6 months ago, and was quite a big deal on RV.net forums.
If (I) click the image source in your post, I am navigated to Photobucket, to your images, but then immediately jump to the image ... Oppos, you can't do that! So your image can't be seen. Time to try something new.
Good luck.
Edit:
Agree with ron.dittmer. Use Zep. - carpfisherExplorerYea, the lack of a picture isn't helping my cause. It is a "paddle" type latch for the underfloor external storage. "Road Sloth" is a 1994 Tioga 31' Class C. The problem is the mechanism that I need to lubricate is buried behind the paddle and I can't get to it to spray it.
Any other suggestions for a system to get the picture posted would be appreciated. - IAMICHABODExplorer II

Use This Link it will help you to post a picture. - Johno02ExplorerTry using a spraycan with a tube that fits into the nozzle. You might be able to sneak the tiny tube through a gap somewhere. Or you could drill a small hole for the tube to be inserted into.
- carpfisherExplorertried the photo link above and it didn't work and I got hit by something that set off my virus detector. Not good.
