Any thoughts on a late 70's Jamboree?

I found one I might be interested in that is based on a Chevy chassis.
Any thoughts on these?
It's a shorty at 21 ft, but the guy says the running gear is sound.
I'm more concerned with the quality of the coach right now.

Ditto. I assume you haven't seen the unit yet, but think about it...even if was was stored indoors and used very infrequently, what's the best possible condition for a 40-yr old RV?

I've always loved the Jamborees, if you are buying it as a project to restore and can get it at a decent price, it should be fun.
  • The age would not concern me as much as the condition.

Check it out, or get it checked the same as you would a newer unit.

    Vintage RV's have class.

Please, keep us updated on your decision.
  • Forget "the guy says" and get it to a Chevy mechanic for compression test and overall road worthiness shakedown. That includes engine, transmission, suspension, body, brakes, and all suspension steering and tires. If nothing is needed, then proceed to the house components and pay big attention to the roof which could have leaks and mold. If it's in 100% condition it's worth maybe $7000. If it needs anything just subtract from that figure.
