First off, there is no harm in blocking a road in a campground for a few minutes, so don't feel rushed. Use the road to get as much angle as you can before you start going backwards. I have been know to put down a trail of spots, or scratch out a line in the dirt, that is where I want my back tires to go. Always remember to check the front swing as you turn. Always try to position so you are backing and turning from the driver's side of the vehicle, so you can see better where you are going to.
I confess that I am one of those guys who does this on his own all the time. I can parallel park my bus towing a 25 ft trailer. The one true trick is think it out before hand, get a plan, and then execute your plan.
