Any Winnebago Aspect Owners ?

Looking at a used Aspect 28B , 2nd owner low miles.
Never owned a MH with Slide outs. This one the horse shoe dinette is one slide and the bed in the rear is the other slide out.
We like the set up with the fridge , stove and sink stationary and not in one of the slides.

Test drove it tonight and was quite impressed with the ride.
I've always been a GM person and this E450 chasis road smooth and even going over the cracks in the payment didn't get the slam like a few other ones we drove.

Being as its 29.7 feet long , 5 ft longer then the one we just sold , you could definitely tell there was a weight difference.

I know you seem to can't have your cake and eat it , meaning there's no perfect MH there is always a give and take it seems.

Last two HMs we've had there was just the small storage outside. just enough to get a tub of misc stuff and a small weber BBQ and blocks to level the RV.

This 28B has what we like on the inside , but just has small cubby holes for storage compartments.

Any known problems , things to look for ?

Thanks for any input good or bad...

  • Check the link in my previous post. The parts diagrams should show exactly where the valves are. On our 23D, the Schrader valves are in the rear portside compartment, where the water and drain connections are.

  • Thanks for the input/replies.

This one has the option 15T Air Spring Rears. Without physically crawling underneath and looking , looks like it has those Firestone two fat donuts stacked on each other air bags each side located on the inside of the leaf springs , but can't see any hoses etc nor did I see a valve stem/gauge anywhere to adjust them ?
The owner didn't know anything about it...

Wife loves the big horse shoe dinette , can't stand the standard small dinettes most are set up with. So that's a plus there.

Like most have said the more storage you have the stuff you'll load up.

When we emptied out the MH Monday night , I couldn't believe all the stuff we had crammed into nooks and crannies that we never even used.

Need to do some measuring of the storage compartments openings and just see exactly what will fit and won't.

    Thanks for the replies !
  • We are second owners of an '06, 23D and very pleased with the unit. If you haven't already, view the brochure and have a look at the online schematics, parts lists. Link: https://winnebagoind.com/product-resources/product-information

As noted, it lacks outside storage and on ours, there is no good place for the sewage hose and most BBQ's are too tall to fit in a compartment. It also seems built lower to the ground, so you need to be careful entering and exiting driveways. For us, this was a mixed blessing because it allowed the coach to be shorter and therefore fit under the eave of our house.

We like the quality of the hardware and there are little features we appreciate. Slide out pantry, all the doors, coach and cab lock with a single fob, closet light. The kitchen drawers are on full extension glides and have nice latches. One that would get us on previous RV's was the exterior porch light, one would forget it was on and run the battery down. Our Aspect, when that light is on, there is also an interior light that also goes on to remind you to turn it off. The factory supplied radio is feature loaded, but totally untuitive in operation. One of these days I'll replace it.

The Ford components have been reliable and work well. Having a Ford vans for many years, I got used to the handling quirks and my wife doesn't mind the slightly cramped passenger seat. Not much choice in this department.

    My 2 cents +

  • We have a 2008 26A which is a little smaller than yours but we love our Aspect. The only real issue we had with ours was clear coat peeling on the top cap. Our was originally an Arizona unit so I suspect the sun contributed to this. I know earlier model had this issue along the top of the sides of the roof where the roof curved down to meet the sides. We also replaced the plastic toilet with a better porcelain one. Other than that the quality and build are amazing. I think the horseshoe shaped dinette is the most comfortable dinette I have ever sat in for an RV.
  • We have a 12 model, dont really care for the U shape dinette, but i dont want to spend $1500 to change it out! Only problem we have had is setting the ride right with the air bags too low and it wanders too hi and its a rock ride. The front seats we have leave some to be desired and the entertainment system is a little on the complicate side if not a teenager. Even my 30 YO had issues trying to make it work!

Since you are not a ford guy I would encourage you to look at the 5star tuner for it. makes shifting better and gives the engine better manners with less downshifting and going to 5K rpms. Presently have a leak from the shower area that I need to get to prior to next months trip.
  • We've had our unit since 2008 and like it a lot. We keep looking at new units but can't find anything we like as well. There have been a few problems, but nothing out of the ordinary.
