Anyone else been this stupid?

Parked on the road for lunch; started the generator to heat some stuff. This time I ran the AC and Microwave same time and it tripped the breaker. After much searching I finally found the breaker switch on the generator and reset it. Gen ran fine but no power getting to the coach. Tried many things and eventually made an appointment for repair. A guy in the campground just happened to mention plugging the MH cord back into the MH to get the power to the coach. Darn, I knew that but had just overlooked it. After 3 days, problem fixed and cancelled the appointment. DUMB. I know on some MH's you don't have to plug in; it's automatic but not mine.
  • Been there, done that. I called the service department to see if they had any idea why the genny was running but I had no power, and after some discussion they asked if it was plugged in. I always keep the cord plugged into the genny but they had serviced it shortly before, and they don't plug it in when they finish. Fortunately we were home and not on the road.

Yep. I managed to drive away while hooked to shore power. I was at home.
    And, I did a walk-around before I drove away. :S
  • I once started to drive off without unplugging from the power pedestal. Saw the cord just as it pulled tight. Only damage was a broken piece in the door covering my electrical compartment.

And, yes, I know the power pedestal was not damaged as it was at my house.
  • We are all human and make lots of mistakes. Don't beat yourself up. Forgive yourself, laugh and move on.
  • Sometimes I'll forget to unplug my converter while the inverter is on. That's the problem with manual stuff.
