Anyone Else Have Trouble With WD Hitches?

I agree. Looks like a bad design to me.

Can't be used upside down from where it is, trailer tongue would never fit. I do intend to open my wallet farther and expect a replacement would do the same thing. I just feel like Curt owes me a refund for this POS.

Am I looking at the picture wrong way?
The lower part of the bar has brackets wear on truck side, when tension suppose to wear it on trailer side.
Was the hitch used upside down?

He said he only used it a few times, so I wouldn't call that natural or normal wear. That hitch should last for many years. I'm wondering if it was made with a bad batch of Chinese steel.

Says: "Limited lifetime warranty (one-year finish, one-year parts)"

So everything is covered forever except the paint and the parts.......... I guess that just leaves the box it came in.

Instructions

First sentence in the installation instructions:
Keep the socket-mounted ends of the spring bars and
the lock pins in the head assembly free from dirt and well
lubricated. Excessive wear in this area may indicate an
overload or inadequate lubrication.

They know they have a problem.

Chunk it and call it lesson learned. Then get a Reese WD hitch. Mine is 12 years old and has never seen any grease or oil.

Looks like the holes have wear. How the pins look like?
Question is has the hitch wear warranty?
There is common issue with lot of "lifetime warranty" items, where they are covered for manufacturing defects, but not natural wear.

I've heard some others having excessive trunion wear, but don't have any experience with that style of WDH. I know my first L-bar WDH wore the sockets out on the hitch head after seven years and did not have grease fittings. My cheap HF hitch has fittings and I grease them every other trip - It looks like it will out live my previous name brand competitor.
