- I offset the groove on the 2 pieces that will screw to the wall, to allow some space between the sliding portion and the wall.
Here you can see about 1/4" between the sliding portion in the center, and the wall.
The drawer bottom will be fastened to the sliding portion.
If you haven't used a wooden slide with furniture wax, it's actually pretty slick. (pun intended)
- I started off by creating my sliding joint, (no, not drugs), this is wooden. I'll be using the same type joint that I used on the rear window cover.

- Good morning. The maniac is back! Lol.
Here's the next part of this project. Below the top shelf "area" in the rear, I am going to install a sliding shelf.
This will be to house the Breville oven. Say, what?
Well, I figure, if I put it in the back, mounted on a slide, it will be out of the way when not in use. When we want to use it, we'll just slide the shelf out, and we can close the door between the kitchen and rear "area", and keep all of the heat back there, as well as either open the window, or turn on the vent fan that I will eventually install in that area.
If on the other hand we want the heat ... we can just leave everything closed up and the heat will filter front.
Crazy? Maybe, but, at the moment, it looks like it should work. You know, kinda like "Hey, watch this"!
- I did get some work done today getting ready for drawers in the passenger side rear of the coach.
I even took pictures, but, alas, did not have enough time to process and post them, so I'll have them up tomorrow. Shadyladywinnie wrote:

Yup, haven't quit yet! Looking forward to being able to work and post every day again. Hopefully, that will be starting tomorrow! Wahoo....- ShadyladywinnieExplorerGlad you are still rocking!
- I also have a setup that looks like a nice shelf, all the way at the back on the passenger side, but it's not...
This area is 19" wide and 26" deep.
I don't like those dimensions as the stuff at the back tends to get lost. As a result, after a discussion with the other half, we are going to use a basket in this area that can be pulled out completely with access to everything inside.
Since this is on the high side, we will use this for toilet paper, and paper towels, and a few boxes of tissues. That won't weigh much, so it should be just fine.
I'll try and do better with my updates in the future! - Another thing I needed to correct was the space between the rear escape window latches and the slider.
I thought I had enough room in there by using 3/4" plywood for the rails, and 1/4 in for the slider, with the groove offset.
Alas, the best laid plans..... As a result, I got tired of messing with this, and just cut a small groove in the slider to get enough room for clearance.
Yup... I finally hit the point with this particular area --- That's close enough! Lol.
- After adding a few screws to secure the sliding tracks into position, it looks like this.
There is a small gap on the right side, which will be covered by the time this installation is finished.
After closing this, I went outside in the dark, and there was no light coming through to the outside. That's exactly what I wanted. Yeehaw!
The slider is a nice fit, and doesn't take much pressure to move it back and forth. I do plan on being able to remove the slider when it's in the bathroom side, just in case I need to remove it.
- Hey everyone! I'm back. For all of you who are suffering from withdrawal symptoms, due to no updates.... well, here ya go... Lol.
I did some more work on the rear window cover. I needed to add a little extra space between the 2 x 3 and the sliding cover. I think I may add a mirror to the sliding plywood, and wanted a little extra space available. Should be a useful item.
I don't plan on driving with the cover closed. That is primarily for use when we are stationary.
