Anyone Running Toyo M154 (265/75-22.5) Tires?

Anyone running Toyo M154 (265/75-22.5) date 9/2012 tires on their coach?

I have a 2001 Fleetwood Discovery 37ft coach that came with the Toyo M154 (265/75-22.5). I am looking into changing the tires to Michelin XRV but keep reading bad reviews on the Michelin's. The Toyo's have a lot of good reviews. The Toyo reviews are confusing because that is not my experience with the Toyo's on my RV. My ride is very harsh and jarring and vibration.

This is the only RV I have owned so I don't have experience with other tires on RV's. Is the harsh, jarring ride normal? I am wanting a smoother softer ride.

Also, anyone have issues with how the coach handles. I get a lot of wandering, have to fight to keep the coach straight.

Appreciate any experience you can provide.
  • I have the toyo's on my 2001 Beaver DP. They seem to be fine on my coach. The difference in price and the positive reviews I read made my decision. I haven't had an RV with the Michelins so can't comment on those.
  • Toyos worked fine for me for over 9 years.

Harsh and jamming ride, might be indicative of over inflated tires.

Have you weighed your axles and then inflated the tires to the tire manufacturer's specification for the axle weight?

It could make a huge difference in your ride.
  • Had Toyo's (154's) for over 5 years on a Newmar Class A DP. Recently sold the MH.

Never a problem, rode well, handled really well, ride was no problem.

Have also had them on a Mustang (not 154's), two Jeeps and a Subaru. Would recommend them to viajante's enemies and most anyone else.
  • I fell for all the Toyo hype. Those were the worst riding tires I have ever experienced in my life !!!! I took them back to the dealer and traded them for Michelin XRV's, far superior ride. I don't understand the negative reviews for Michelin. I had Michelins on my rig for seven years with zero problems. I wouldn't recommend Toyo's to my worst enemy.
  • BTW, the Michelin equivalent size is 255/80R22.5. It is available in either XRV or XZE.
