Anyone towing a 2014-2015 Ford Escape 4 down?

I looked at a few escapes. The manuals on the ones I looked at said you could tow 4 down. If you google it, you will see that in spite of what the manual says (which I often take as gospel) a lot of folks have ruined their trannys towing escapes 4 down. I'm not expert, just sharing what I learned from others.

We looked at the Escape but unfortunately it is not towable 4 down. We bought a used CRV with only 8941 miles on it.

You might want to ask to have this put in the dingy section.
