AquaHot gurus here. I have downloaded the service and owners manuals for my particular model and now have a better understanding of how the system works. However, you bring up another question regarding the type of coolant used in the AquaHot. You said that AquaHot specifically does not allow the use of automotive type coolant in the system. The manual for my system specifies that "Green Ethylene Glycol" antifreeze is used. Is that not regular automotive antifreeze?
No need to get so defensive, we are all human and all make mistakes at one point in time or another. Contrary to popular belief NOT everything on the internet is true, we were simply wanting to ensure that the correct information was being passed along even though it was not exactly what the OP asked, it was merely additional information volunteered. Nothing more, nothing less. There was no personal attacks or condescending comments being made.
That said, the ethylene glycol that Aqua-Hot (formerly Vehicle Systems) recommends for use in their systems is a boiler antifreeze and the one that they recommend and used to sell was made by Camco and is a -100 degree boiler solution. Aqua-Hot recommends mixing it at a 1 to 1 or 50/50 with deionized water or distilled water. This will give it freezing protection down to -50 degrees if the system is not being run or excercised.
On a side note, it is also not advisable to mix the glycol/water mixture any more than the 50/50 mixture. If memory serves there is some information on the internet that states it can be mixed at a 60/40 glycol to water ratio but it has been determined that when a higher concentration of glycol is used that check valve sticking can become more prevalent or happen more frequently.

On edit, here is the Camco -100 degree boiler antifreeze. It is available through many RV locations.
