Are my turn signals invisible?

Not only the '4 wheelers' are rude. Just recently coming back from Asheville, NC, to TN, my brother and I (he was following me in his new Tiffin) were driving along I-40. At this point, I-40 had three lanes and we both moved to the middle lane to allow merging traffic coming off an exit. So, we were both in the middle lane.
We couldn't get back over as no one would let us over. A trucker in a blue cab truck was following my brother and changed into the right lane to pass as he jumped at the opening. He honked at my brother and me too as he passed us. I know he was irritated that we were in the middle lane but I just looked at him as he shook his fist at me.
The trucker jumped in the lane so fast that my brother didn't attempt to get in the right lane at that time. Some people are so impatient. I know the truckers are working but they don't own the road. 99% of the truckers are considerate.
