On three lane highways where there is a lot of on ramps, I stay in the middle lane. I used to be concerned about being there, but realize that if you move over to the right lane, none of these idiots will allow you back, especially if there is a slow vehicle getting on the on ramp.
I can often see people several car lengths back accelerate the minute I turn my signal on. I just ignore them and change lanes. They often have to stab their brakes and swerve....I just don't care anymore.....common sense and courtesy is a thing of the past.
My favorite story....we we're on a trip towing our 22' boat. I had my cruise set at 63 mph and didn't budge from their. I came up on a lady doing about 60-61 mph. I passed her and moved back into the slow lane. I never touched the cruise so my speed was still the same. She passed me, pulled in front and slowed back down to 60-61. I passed her again in a few miles and pulled back into the slow lane. Here she comes again, passes me and slows down. SO the third time I passed her, I changed lanes with just a couple of feet to spare and then gave the boat a little whip. I figured she would get the message. I looked back and she was skidding sideways down the freeway and then got off at the next ramp. I waited for awhile and expected to see the CHP looking for me, but I guess she was too busy changing her undies.
