The question is like: "How long is a rubber band?"
Answer: "It depends how much you stretch it."
Increasing cost of fuel is not the only reason to slow down. Safety and enjoying the scenery while touring are two other reasons that come to mind. Furthermore, what are the alternatives. If it is traveling by other means (small car, hotel, restaurant for example), chances are their cost would also increase. In the big scheme of things, the cost of fuel is not such a big deal when everything else is considered in a trip.
Like others have commented above, shorter trips and longer stays in one location are simple ways to still enjoy the B. If the cost of fuel becomes a significant issue for the owner it might be time to reconsider ownership of the RV.
