Atwood levelegs not working can't move the coach

2009 Newmar Ventana. Went to retract the jacks and one leg retracts almost all the way, maybe a 1/2" down but won't move any further. motor is spinning but leg not moving.
Because of that I am not able to move the coach. The air bags will not stay filled, it keeps dumping the air. I am in a spot with bad cell service but I did contact Attwood 24 hr help but they refereed me to technical line which is only open during business hrs. There must be a way to reset the system to allow the bags to stay filled and move the coach. Please help if you can. first day of our holiday and we are just staying here overnight. It is a mud pit and I can't get sat because of a tree. The kids will drive me crazy
  • Having issues with my RR Atwood Leveleg 13" 10K jack. Pulled it yesterday. The shaft that drops down from the gear box has a pin in it that meshes with the gear that drives the two jackscrew gears. The shaft is broken at the pin. I'll open the gearbox & see what the other end looks like.
Need to source some parts. Atwood tells me a motor/gearbox is avail for the jack BUT they have three on backorder.
  • I had to remove my jack, there was a shaft broken inside the motor assembly. I had 2 of them break, the part is about $280.00. I disconnected the control panel to stop the alarm.
  • If the jack is 1/2" from the top, unplug it at the motor, pull harness plug on the control box, make a wire jumper and short between "Fill & +" on the harness reading the locations on the control box plug. Your coach should air up. To dump air short between "Dump and +". Unplugging the control should also disable the alarm. At least that was the way we did it on our 2006 in 2008. If it's just spinning, sorry probably shot. Do not break the factory seal and open the motor case as any action will not be in your favor at Atwood. Opened one of our's and it was a $700 peek at busted nuts on 2 threaded shafts. They replaced one no charge a year later that wasn't opened. We've had 3 of 4 fail in the 1st 5 years of ownership. I believe this info is found on the troubleshooting pages for the Levelegs.
  • Are these the Atwood electric levelers?..or hydraulics...there may be a way to get these into a reset mode if they are electric -- I believe it is holding all directions down for five seconds but please don't count on me for that...This was a known problem caused by water getting inside the boot connections...and shorting out the electrics...please google the procedure for resetting the jacks via some kind of error mode....Sorry I couldn't help more but my friend had these on a Discovery which was instrumental on his trading it in...the jacks were driving him crazy..
