Atwood water heater GC10A -4E. Issue.. not heating

I just got back from a short trip, 90 miles one way. My water heater worked fine from friday to this morning. When I got home I noticed that it was left on during the trip home. I turned it off and tried to test it out. It would not turn on. I tried the electrical part as well. This heater is both electric and gas. Nothing worked. The red light did not come on indicating any fault. I reset the power at the main panel. I tried again, nothing. When it is working fine, and I turned tne electrical switch on I can see the amp increase on the in house electrical panel. I see no increase in amps. Anyone has any idea? Is there maybe a fuse or something that needs reset. I also disconnected the shore power and reset it.. no change with the heater both from the gas and electric switch. I appreciate any help!
  • I guess I was over thinking the issue. The tank was filled with hot water when I got home so that's why neither heating didn't work. I ran cold water for about a min, and both gas and electric worked.. Thanks for all your input. lessons learn.

    1. If left on during your trip, it kept the water HOT.
    2. So, when you returned home and checked, if the water was already hot and not needing to be heated NOTHING will happen from both switches until the tstat calls for heat.
    3. Go to the POP OFF valve of the water heater. Pop it open and see if you have HOT Water.
    4. Also, if your unit has Motoraide, then the chassis engine heated the water in transit. Doug

GC10A -4E.....no 'H' in model number therefore no motoraid
