Automatic air tank drain valves

Look a little closer. My lanyards were ty-wrapped to my frame and I had to cut the ty-wraps and stretch them out through the frame. That's probably how mine left freightliner and neither Winnebago or General RV took the time to do a very good PDI.

I layed right under the tanks and stared at them. There are no lanyards and no drain valves to open.

google 12 volt air dump valves and you will probably find the one you are looking at on your tanks

I am assuming you have a HWH auto level system. If so it dumps the air before it starts to level. Quick way to see is store the level and build pressure and then have someone outside and level the system. Air should be dump if not then the level system should not work.

Does it have one or two wires coming out of it.

It would be very helpful if you would have told us what unit you have. Like make model year that kind of thing.

Also you have the availability to put that information in the signature block.

I assume the OP, when he talks of draining tanks, is wanting to be sure there is no water in the tanks. If just want air out of system, just shut off engine and pump foot value.
OP, the auto drains on my old Pete had a wire, for a small heating element, but the drain seamed to be controlled by time or pressure. With them and a well serviced air dryer, there should be no water in tank. Every fall I would pump air down and pull plugs to see if I had any water.

Yes it dumps the air before it starts to level. I hadn’t thought of that. Those things I’m looking at must have something to do with that. So if they are some sort of electric air dump valves then I suppose I don’t ever have to worry about draining the water out as long as I use the automatic leveling system once in a while. Does that sound right?

I screwed up when I was registering on this site and I didn’t make a signature with that info. Now I have searched and clicked the help button but can’t find where I go to do that. Also can’t figure how to post pictures.

The coach is a 40’ 2000 Newmar London Aire.

AND, what chassis. The air tank drains are part of your chassis, not coach.
