awing adjustment

Do any of you know how to adjust the door awing on an Fleetwood Discovery 2009 Diesel MH? DH has tried to get it to come all the way in, but it lacks just a little.
  • On my awning the adjustments are on the left side of the awning when looking at it. Take the cover off the side and you will find a couple of adjustment screws, one for "in" and one for "out". Do not adjust the in to a point that the motor starts to bind up. If I remember correctly you can down load instructions from Carefrees web site.

  • It is a powered awing, sorry I forgot to post this fact. Also there are no arms on this awing.
  • You haven't indicated whether it is manual or a powered awning or manufacturers name.

  • If your saying that the tention is inadequate to completely re-wind then heres what I did. No special wrenches or pliers or dangerous adjustment of the springs.
Extend the awning. Remove the arm from the bottom of the MH as if you were going to use it in the post position when extended. Give it a couple complete turns in the tightening direction. Its now like a giant lever. Do the same with the arm at the rear. Attach the arm to the MH at the bottom and see if the couple turns is adequate. If not, repeat. Simple and no danger to the person doing the adjustment.
