Once went away for the day leaving the awning out in Big Bend NP as we were returning the wind was whipping and I got very worried. Got even more worried when I couldn't see my awning. As we got closer I realized the awning was stowed! A good Samaritan (maybe even a GoodSam member) had put it up for us. No one would come forward and accept our thanks.
Never left the coach with the awning out after that. Now we have power awning from Carefree with auto retract and I still don't leave it unless I need to shade the refrigerator when the PS is facing south. Then I set the auto retract to the m ost sensitive setting.
