Awning sun shade
We have spent a week at the beach and DW wants one of those mesh sun shades that we see attached to the rollers of many patio awnings. So, my first question is are they more trouble than they are...

IMHO this is the way to go. Attach sun shade to the valance.
I had the sun shade one that fit into the track. That's all fine and good but when a sudden storm comes up you now have to fight to get that out of the track before you can roll up your awning in time to save it.
Couple of spring loaded clips from Lowes and attach to valance. Takes 2 seconds to get it off so you can roll up the awning.
