Awning will not come off RV. Removal tips?

Hello all,

I have sold the A&E awning off of my 2005 Chinook Concourse and when the buyer came, we could not get it removed off of the RV. There were 5 phillips screws on the underside of the brackets as well as 3 hex head screws inside the casing. (you have to open the awning to get to these)

With all of these removed, the awning will not budge at all. Is there something that I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the update!

I can fully understand why you wouldn't want to go prying on it when you thought there could be hidden fasteners.

Maybe I'm confused but the pic you posted actually looks like it is already off the RV. I don't even see the RV.

That picture came from the internet. My awning is still on the RV, but is the exact same one as the picture above.

  • Here is manual. You may look to see if there is any sealer that needs to be removed.
    Horizon manual
If it uses the awning rail, it will need to be slide off one end or the other.

  • I could not find any other screws. My awning looks exactly like this...

There is usually a screw driven thru the track to stop the fabric from sliding. It should be near each end of the slide.
