My carefree electric awning works fine. It's adjustable, sheds water in the rain and no issues.
I guess on a unit with a large campside slide engineering has yet to come up with a good solution for an awning that will clear the slide and shed water. Sort of a pain if you ask me. I mean what are you supposed to do every time it rains and all your stuff on your patio gets wet? Chairs, grill, bikes, and heaven forbid you have a radio or want to put lights on your awning.
