Plase name the "In no hurry to settle" insurance company and do keep your options open regarding suing the idiot.
True story: Boyfriend borrows Girlfriends new Denalli Pick up (Big and expensive) on which she has yet to make first payment.
Gets chased by police, blows through a barricade slides out on the rails that will eventually be a bridge, hits a construction worker (15,000 fine plus prison time) causing non-fatal injury (could be worse), need crane to lift truck back to terra-firma where it can be loaded on a flat bed and towed to impound where it is declared totaled.
Girlfriend calls her insurance agent:
Agent: DO you remember when you told you about the NAMED EXCLUDED DRIVER...
(GF ... Uh, YES)
Agent: Well do you remember your boyfriend was that named excluded driver?
(GF....ur.. yes)
Agent: Claim denied, due to named excluded driver.
And as I said she had yet to make the 1st payment.
