Banks website says the 2006-2015 V-10 will get +56 more HP and +70 Torque at the rear wheels.
But at what RPM? Normally better breathing gives better results at the very high end of the RPM range. Not necessarily relevant in an RV.
Again, HP and torque at the RPM's you will normally be running is what IS relevant.
Gassers cruse at 2,200- 2,500 RPM. Power increases in cruse range means little. Power increases when climbing or passing are what counts. If one theorizes about the curve below 3,000 RPM, the Dyno chart would lead one to believe there is some power increase as low as 2,500 RPM.
Click on "Proof" on Banks web page.
Banks Dyno Chart.
Richard - supercubExplorerIn the past, I've had a couple of motorhomes on Workhorse Chassis. I alomost did a mod to increase power and then changed my mind since the mpg really didn't change. As I remember going up a grade I didn't want anymore then 4000 rpms because the noise was unbearable. Also at this rpm, I usually got 45mph or so going up the steepest grades towing my car. I couldn't understand shelling out a bunch of $$ so I could get up a hill a few mph faster. Just my thoughts.
Brian - timmacExplorerThey show the Peak HP/Torque increases in 3200 to 4500 RPM range where it is needed the most in the hills.

That's for the whole PowerPack package, not the headers alone. Whats the gain of the Stinger system? (Stinger = PowerPack - Headers)
Headers alone does very little, you need cold air intake with more air flow and better exhaust flow system to make the headers do what its suppose to do.. - carringbExplorer

I can't view their page because I took Flash off my computers.
Also, the system is for up to 2015. The 2016 V10 makes way different numbers. With more torque at a lower RPM I suspect its more than just programming changes. - wolfe10Explorer

- carringbExplorerExhaust mods won't give you any more fuel economy, except in the rare occurrence that it added enough power to hold one gear higher than before. However, the new 2016 V10 has a better torque curve, to keep power up through every gear, so I would be surprised if exhaust improvements do much at all.
Note: I have the full Banks PowerPack on my V10, but it's a 2-valve so the Banks headers make a much bigger difference than on the 3-valve. In fact, I'm not sure they help at all on the 3-valve. I suspect most of the gains on the 3-valve are from the cat-back. Last I checked, Banks wasn't even claiming gains for their headers on the 3-valve. - wildmanbakerExplorerThe 2 valve v10s had very restrictive exhaust manifolds and were prone to cracking and pulling studs from the heads. The 3 valve engines have a lot better exhaust flow than the older ones and actually run cooler also. If it were me, I would install Doug Thorey Ceramic coated headers instead of the Banks, because There are some problems with SS headers. The ceramic coating keeps the heat in the headers longer for better scavenging. The fit is great for a DIY installation, not mater your level of skill. If you can work a ratchet, you can install them.
- BigMacExplorerJust one other comment regarding any increase in MPG... If I could get a 1 MPG increase vs. that I get now, I'd take it in a heartbeat, considering I get between 7 and 8 now. While an addition of 1 MPG doesn't sound like much, from 7 to 8 MPG is a 14+% increase. On a long trip where I pay $1000 for fuel now, that's $150 in my pocket. Nothing to sneeze at. I didn't put the Banks on for the MPG, but I would have taken it with a big smile.
- wolfe10ExplorerMike,
Yes, consensus is that the newer the engine, the better the factory did with fine-tuning intake and exhaust.
I would appreciate it if someone has HP/torque curves for the 2015 vs 2016 V10 in F53 chassis.
Because the HP and torque of the 2016 are at lower (more rational) RPM's, I am not sure HP and torque are really lower if you look at the "rational RPM range".
Inquiring minds want to know.
