Battery acid

While installing my coach battery in there must have been some water leaking out that I did not see. It got on my kick palate under the entry door. The vynle they put there did its job and saved the paint but it is white spots instead of the brown paint. Could I Just use touch up paint to try to cover this or will I need to get new vinal and remove the old. Thanks
  • Yes, baking soda Neutralizes a lot of acids. It's also the #1 ingredient in anti-acids for your stomach. A little capsule size of baking soda will help tremendously with heartburn. :) It also cleans battery acid.
  • Give everything a scrub with some baking soda + water first, to neutralize any acid that might be lingering.
  • Touch up paint may stand out as much as the white spots.
Before replacing the vinyl I would try to paint the whole area.
Use Krylon or other paint suitable for vinyl.

First, I would check the price of the replacement vinyl. It may be easier to replace it.
