Path is like this.
Shore power to automatic transfer switch to main breaker panel
Generator power to auto transfer switch. to main breaker panel
Main panel branch breakr----Inverter---Sub Panel---Protected loads
NOTE that the sub panel may be part of the inverter assembly.
And of course Batteries <===> Inverter (Note that is 2 way)
YOU may choose to disconnect the original converter (I did not) or disable the inverter's charger module (I did)
The Generator does not charge batteris.. 120vac charges them via the converter
You have two sources of 120 vac for the converter.. Generator or shore.
This **IS** how my RV is wired.. along with a few thousand others.
