vacummed,
Well Sir, I don't have any idea why people have a hard time with adding a charger to the chassis batteries. Knowing that Winne and Itasca had not installed any means to charge the chassis batteries prior to around early '06, and, since I had no idea "Trik-L-Start" or Amp-L-Start existed, I simply purchased the same battery charger that we used on the SDFD for all of our rigs. And that was a NAPA, three stage unit.
I permanently installed it, right next to the 120AC circuit breakers, under the foot of the bed. I connected it to an unused circuit breaker and then, ran the 12VDC wires through some conduit and tied them directly to the posts on the chassis batteries.
It's been working like that, charging them flawlessly now for, just over 2 years. Those batteries remain at 13.5V and never, I repeat, NEVER boil over or, even show any signs of over charging. That C-7 CAT starts flawlessly after sitting a for month or two, each and every time.
So, in the event your new T-L-S doesn't produce the effects you desire, do not hesitate installing a permanent Chassis battery charger. Just look up the specs on the one you choose so it does shut down when not needed and or, does a maintenance charge at given intervals.
