Battery Group

I have a 2004 Itasca Sunova that is in need of 2 coach batteries
I have 3 different size batteries in the compartment.1 for starting and the others for coach. Does anyone out there know what group size the motorhome came with? I have looked and cannot find anything in the owners manual or wiring diagrams
Thank you all in advance
  • What the MH came with may not be what you need. Unless you always plugin, do an energy audit and measure the space available....width, length and height.
  • Under systems, it shows 2 group 24 batteries for the coach. Chassis battery would be in accordance with the chassis builder.
    Brochure

If you dry camp, I would suggest two golf cart 6 volt batteries wired in series. 12 volt batteries would be wired in parallel.

I will second the GC-2 Golf car battery suggestion...

Logic: As it is the single most "Popular" lead acid battery, Golf Courses buy 'em by the pallet load.. The cost per unit is lower (Less retooling)

And they also are true DEEP CYCLE batteries,, Ideal for RV and Solar systems
    (either or both)
  • My 2004 workhorse W22 manual says the battery is group 78, if I remember right.
  • Costco has 6 Volt deep cycle for $86 each. Or did.
  • Just bought 2 Trojan T105 6 volt batteries to replace 8 year old T105's. Cost was $113 each before taxes.
