The most cost effective that work well, are 6v golf cart batteries from Sam's or other. One or more pairs are connected in series for 12v. These pairs if more than one, are in turn connected in parallel to double it's amp/hour capacity, while retaining the 12vdc required voltage.
  • I replaced my Interstate U2200 batteries with blems from the local Interstate Battery store for about $45, price may have gone up by now. The blems only have a 30-60 warranty, but at this price I could still replace one cheaper then buying a regular priced battery. Being two years old or more they are still operating fine. I do not mind checking the water monthly vs. the much higher AGM priced batteries.

Check and see if you have a Interstate Battery(Factory)store in your area.
  • I replaced my 6 volt X4 batteries last year (10 yrs old) w/Costco golf cart batteries the same size. $80 ea. Interstates U2200 cost about 130/ea, maybe a better battery but many on this forum have said the Costco's have worked well for them!
  • Hi,

It sounds as if you have more than one battery. If you know which battery is bad, disconnect it. When one battery fails after five years, it would be best to start over with a new set.

How many batteries are currently being used for the house?
  • it is a 04 yr model, the batterys has been on there for 5 yrs, also i am dry camping now an have to run genset all the time. the error light will come on when batterys get dn to 50%an when i ck the alladin it shows charge rate at 18volts maybe amps and the genset is not running just the engine. i hope it is were the 1 battery is bad making it act crazy
  • Farmingdad, what year is your Dynasty?

We had our wet cell batteries for just over 6 yrs. and I got tired of the off-gassing and watering the batteries every couple of months (checking them monthly).... so, I replaced all the house batteries with AGM's. It's heaven.

    MM.
  • They are golf cart six volt batteries on my coach hooked up in series. I always replace them all as the experts suggest, but I notice your coach is only three years old, so I might make an exception in your case and just change th bad battery.

Now there are some coaches that use 12 volt batteries, so check yours to make sure you get the right batteries.

I have used wet cell type batteries by Interstate U-2200, but you. Can also get AGM more expensive batteries.

You want deep cycle batteries. You can get wet cells, AGM, or GEL. The wet cells will be the cheapest. My preference is AGM because they are valve regulated and do not anywhere the amount of off gassing. They also last as long, if not longer than wet cells.
