If you travel down by the border states very much, you will eventually get stopped at one of the checkpoints set up along the interstate. Not knowing my coach had been scanned for heat signatures from bodies, when asked, I told the officer that there were only two adults in the coach. I was motioned over to the side where another officer quickly discovered that my 150+ pound dog, laying in the back, showed up on their scanner as a human being.
There were several types of scanners set up and I assume they were scanning for radioactivity as well. They had lots of dogs around so I am sure that as I passed by, the coach was being sniffed as well.
Just so that you are aware, Border Patrol also has dogs trained to sniff out human odor, to discover human smuggling. Maybe they were giving your coach a double check.:)
