While that's a good starting point, one should also take into consideration any step up from the cab area to the house area. A six inch step up coupled with a six inch lower headroom would produce the same cabover headroom.
Perhaps overall outside height would be the best simple measurement to use, though one should also take the shape of the cabover into account (and whether it's full height at the junction with the house box).
