This question is a bit like asking who makes the best sports car in the 200k range? There is no right answer. Depends on who you ask and what you want. I would think you could find a 2014 Newmar, Fleetwood, Winnie, or Tuscanny in a 42 footer in that price range. You won't get a new King Aire, Newell, Foretravel or Prevost but you might find a 6-8 yr old one. Better quality for sure, but you'll have to go farther back in the years. I think you will need to start narrowing your search, specifically to a floorplan you like. Then decide who makes it and what you can find in your budget then start comparing brands. Quad slide, mid entry door, split bath, tag axle, Cat, Cummins, freightliner, roadmaster?? etc etc. What do you really want?
