You are SO RIGHT! I was in Anchorage AK, and used to do a lot of my RV-stuff-shopping up there. I was at Phelps Tire, a regional truck tire outfit, and they didn't have a good solution. They called Six Robblees (regional light truck/trailer accessories/specialty stores/shops) and suggested I go over there. They had ONLY one Dually Valve kit on hand, that same DL1E. Bought it, flew it home in my luggage and had it installed as part of a rotate/flip/balance job.
I had been a Hold-Out. And every tire check was Misery. I inherited rubber valves with a mashup of metal, plastic, and rubber extenders/adapters.
While at Six Robblees, I bought ordinary solid metal bolt-in "truck" valves for Fronts and Spare as well. Couple dollars each. I found that they were too short to get most air chucks onto. Has to do with the shape of the Ford Rims. So next I added these "Gator Caps" also called V2B and other names.

They are AIRLESS, meaning the actual cores in the Dually Valves (and Front Valves, any Tire Valves) are NOT pressed till you put your Gauge or Chuck onto the V2B. No other Cap is required. There are rings on the V2B's, but they're there to allow use of a clip-on tire chuck.
The result is GREAT!
1. I can check six tires as fast as I can walk to the wheel, push a gauge on, and read the number.
2. The setup holds air so well that I add air only rarely, maybe 2-3 times a year, mostly due to seasonal changes.
3. For me, this one is BIG! I can check air and adjust pressure using ANY Gauge, ANY Chuck. I respect everybody who's come up with gadgets to get the Cap off to be able to use a certain Gauge, but I wanted to leave those issues behind.
Dually Valves is an Epiphany! Changes Everything! I'm glad you experienced it.
