Best way through San Francisco South to North.....

Why don't you consider going around San Francisco instead of through it.

We live in the Bay Area and have friends who live North of San Francisco in a town off of 101. We go up 880 and then head Northwest over to 101 after San Francisco. We have a 24 foot Class C and HAVE gone through San Francisco, but try not to do it anymore anytime of day.
