The website referenced earlier shows how to remove the fan from above. What I have done is to cut the two wires to the fan and added quick connect spade lugs. If you were to get a replacement motor assembly from Fantastic they would include the lugs as part of the replacement. With the whole assembly removed clearing is easy.
